SenseCityVity: Mobile Sensing, Urban Awareness, and Collective Action



The project goal is to engage citizens as factors of social change
through the use of mobile technologies as tools that can improve the
understanding of socio-urban problems in cities, neighborhoods, and
communities. SenseCityVity is developed with the participation of a
group of specialists in information technologies, psychology, media,
and visual arts.

Daniel Gatica-Perez

Daniel Gatica-Perez has a BS in Electronics and a MSEE
(Telecommunications) earned, respectively, from the University of
Puebla and the National University of Mexico. He has held the position
of Assistant Professor at the University of Puebla, the Iberoamerican
University and the National University of Mexico. His research
interests include image sequence analysis, digital video processing,
visual communications, and multimedia systems. In particular he has
worked with motion estimation and segmentation for object extraction
in digital video. At present he has begun his Ph.D. work in EE at the
UW and will continue his research at the HIT Lab.
